Q08
Should I trust a promise that scalp care will make my hair grow?
Not credible. Hair improvement takes time and varies greatly among individuals. Responsible providers will not make absolute promises such as "guaranteed hair growth" or "guaranteed results" - such statements themselves should arouse vigilance.
The responsible process is: first understand your medication history and scalp condition, then arrange gentle care; explain clearly what the care can and cannot do. If you have persistent itching and erythema on your scalp while using minoxidil, you should first seek medical attention to check for contact dermatitis (Friedman 2002, PMID 11807448) instead of relying on scalp care.
This page from FerriaMed Hair Care Center explains general scalp care and the limits of our services. The Hair Care Center provides nonmedical scalp care; it does not diagnose or treat disease or prescribe medication. Consult a doctor about health concerns, and follow the prescribing doctor’s instructions for medication. This content is not medical advice. Services and prices are subject to the current written information at each location.
