I use minoxidil. What should I do before visiting?
Three steps: ask the prescribing doctor whether scalp care could interfere with your medication; tell the center which minoxidil formulation you use and how you use it; and choose gentle care that does not irritate the scalp or alter your medication plan.
Medication and routine scalp care can usually be combined, but the doctor’s advice comes first. Continue minoxidil as prescribed; scalp care cannot replace it. If itching or redness persists during treatment, identify the cause before arranging care (Friedman 2002, PMID 11807448).
