Q13
Can scalp care cure an oily scalp?
No, there is no "cure" for an oily scalp. Oil production is related to the activity of sebaceous glands and is affected by hormones, diet, work and rest, etc.; care can improve the immediate oiliness and cleanliness, and help maintain freshness. However, the evidence for external use of oil control mostly comes from small sample studies, and no institution should make absolute promises.
What is more worth doing on a daily basis is gentle cleansing and a regular schedule to avoid over-cleaning which may stimulate oil production. If you want to try care, you can do a single experience first and observe the changes in scalp comfort before deciding on the frequency.
