Should I see a doctor or a scalp care provider for scalp pimples?
Go to the hospital first. Scalp "acne" is mostly folliculitis (hair follicle inflammation, often associated with Staphylococcus aureus), which requires anti-infective treatment and cannot be solved by cosmetic programs (EADV position statement, PMID 40230058); if there are pustules, pain or recurring attacks, you should see a doctor directly.
The maintenance facility is positioned for daily cleansing and relaxation and does not treat inflammatory skin lesions. If the doctor determines that only mild cleaning is required after evaluation, you can go to the location, but please take the initiative to inform the patient about your condition and avoid areas of inflammation. The active period of inflammation is subject to the doctor's advice.
