Will you assess my scalp before recommending care?
“Assess first, then arrange care” is a reasonable process. A scalp assessment can observe oiliness, buildup, and sensitivity and help choose a suitable service; it does not replace a diagnosis. Ask whether the assessment fee is clear, whether you can take the report with you, and whether the proposed care matches its findings.
If pronounced oiliness comes with flaking and itching, consider seeing a doctor to rule out seborrheic dermatitis (PMID 27148560). Scalp care remains routine maintenance.
