What are the roles of scalp care providers and dermatologists?
Diagnosis and treatment belong to a medical provider; routine cleansing and scalp management belong to a care provider. Scalp care providers cannot practice medicine under the relevant Measures for the Administration of Medical Beauty Services. Claims to “treat hair loss” or “cure dermatitis” cross that boundary.
See a doctor first if you have patchy hair loss, scalp scarring, redness, pustules, or rapidly worsening hair loss. Our role is routine scalp management, and we will recommend medical care when these signs appear.
