Is gray hair care a waste of money?
Let’s look at the medical facts first: gray hair is mainly related to heredity and age (PMID 32965076); some reversible causes (hypothyroidism, vitamin B12/D deficiency, etc.) can be checked by a doctor (PMID 30607038); there is currently no recognized treatment that reliably turns gray hair black again, and there is limited evidence for pigment recovery in gray hair (PMID 32654282).
Therefore: Institutions that promise to "turn white hair into black" cannot be trusted. What maintenance can do is manage scalp health; you need to cover gray hair and use hair dye. To judge whether an organization is honest, it depends on whether it clearly explains "what it cannot do."
