Q68 What should I do if minoxidil causes increased shedding, palpitations or scalp discomfort?
Temporary increased shedding may occur during the first 2–4 weeks of minoxidil use and is a common reaction. If you experience palpitations, dizziness, marked scalp irritation or contact dermatitis, stop the medication immediately and contact your doctor.

Initial shedding is usually followed by improvement, but persistent worsening or systemic symptoms require immediate medical attention. Do not increase doses or combine medicines yourself.
For unusual symptoms, keep the packaging and medication records and arrange prompt reassessment. Do not manage them yourself.
